Jim
Reeves was a man with a unique voice. His easy dulcet tones brought
him everlasting fame and millions of fans, until he was tragically
snatched from this life in a plane crash in August 1964.
Kimberly
Jim was his first and only feature film, a musical comedy in which
he plays the legendary American guitar strumming gambler Jim Madison
who ventures to Africa in 1910 to seek his fortune amongst the
diamond mines.
All
the ingredients of a roaring good plot are in place complete with
the greedy hotel owner who is blocking the local water supply,
the saloon nights of fast women and hard liquor, and a spectacular
prize fight which holds no punches.
Gentleman
Jim croons his way through nineteen original songs to give the
film its final magic and the recipe for it's success with which
it broke all existing South African box office records.
